Gatekeeper Program

 

The Gatekeeper Program is a 'senior watch program' established in conjunction with the Bay County Sheriff's Office. Gatekeepers are people in the community who come into contact with the elderly on a frequent basis and are trained to recognize signs of needing help. When they see a need, they contact the Council on Aging, making a referral for an assessment and needed services.

Gatekeeper Services

'Roll Call' is a daily phone call to elderly persons asking "Are you okay?".

Identification bracelets for individuals who suffer from Alzheimer's and related dementias.

Large home address signs are provided for easy visibility for emergency personnel.

File of Life enables senior adults to provide information to emergency personnel if needed.
